Cosan at the 2025 Regatta – A Different Kind of Day on the Water

This year’s Regatta will be remembered not for the races run, but for the resilience, adaptability, and team spirit that defined the day.

With Force 8 winds sweeping across the water, the safety decision was made, for the first time in the event’s history, not to sail. While it was disappointing not to take to the boats, the safety of crews and guests was paramount, and everyone supported the call.

Far from dampening spirits, the change in plan created a new kind of Regatta experience. Teams came together off the water, turning the day into an opportunity for networking, collaboration, and celebrating the strong relationships that drive success in our industry.

To keep the competitive energy alive, we launched a photography competition, challenging participants to capture the essence of the day. From candid team shots to dramatic storm-cloud backdrops, the creativity on display was fantastic. After much debate, a winner was selected, and in recognition, our very own Ian Bloxham, the winner, donated to the RNLI. Given the conditions and the RNLI’s tireless commitment to maritime safety, this felt like a particularly fitting gesture.

Although we didn’t set sail, the 2025 regatta was a reminder that the value of these events isn’t only measured in nautical miles. It’s about bringing people together, strengthening connections, and finding new ways to share experiences, whatever the weather may bring.
