Cosan Regatta 2022

It was great to resurrect the Cosan Charity Regatta this year after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The event took place from Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth, with 10 yachts and crews racing across to Cowes on the Isle of Wight and back. This year saw nearly 100 participants from across the industry and a special mention must go to our boat sponsors who were:

  • ARC Pensions Law

  • Capita Pensions Solutions

  • Cosan Consulting

  • DLA Piper

  • Equiniti

  • Hymans Robertson

  • Quietroom

  • Trafalgar House

  • XPS Pensions

  • Cosan Consulting II

Conditions were challenging for the morning upwind race, with the crews facing gusts of over 35 knots at times. This meant the race was abandoned shortly after the start, in order to ensure that we all arrived at our lunch stop at the Island Sailing Club in one piece and on time !  The afternoon race back to Gunwharf Quays therefore became a ‘winner takes all’ event, with the Capita crew aboard Sandpiper coming through to take the trophy on adjusted time after an impressive sail. Quietroom (White Diamond) and Hymans Robertson (Southpoint) rounded out the top three places. A special mention should also go to the Cosan crew who took Line Honours aboard Sarellie K, but who placed 6th on corrected time. The evening prize giving took place at the wonderful Still and West pub where the celebrations continued long into the night!

The Capita crew nominated Cancer Research as their chosen charity and we will shortly be making arrangements to send them the £1500 Winner’s donation.

Big thanks once again to all our boat sponsors and guests. You made it a memorable event and we hope to see you all back for the 2023 Cosan Charity Regatta.
